YaleLA Summer Party 2022
We had such a wonderful time at our Summer Party & Class of 2026 Send-Off on Sunday, August 14, 2022!
175 members of our Yale community in LA (and also some visitors from other parts of CA) came to help us give a proper welcome and send-off to the newest members of Yale’s LA family — the incoming students of the Class of 2026 — as they prepared to leave for New Haven the following weekend. We had an ice cream truck, custom-made Yale lawn games, lots of fun Yale swag, Yale raffle prizes, a Yale-themed photo booth, hors d’oeuvres and drinks — and most importantly, an amazing turnout and amazing time at our largest get-together since COVID!
Huge thanks to our incredible hosts Patricia and Kenneth McKenna (‘75 BA, ‘78 PhD); our special guest speakers Yale College Dean Mary Miller (‘78 MA, ‘80 MPhil, ‘81 PhD) and her husband Yale Professor Edward Kamens (‘74 BA, ‘79 MA, ‘82 PhD); and our event organizers YaleLA President Anita P. Wu (‘03 BA, ‘06 JD), YaleLA Vice President Marcos Luis (‘07 BA), and Yale ASC Director Darlene Kaplan (‘78 BA)! Many thanks also to the terrific crew of alumni volunteers who helped us set up and clean up.
The success of this event was truly a testament to the newly revitalized and re-engaged Yale community in LA. Unfortunately, we had a waiting list and weren’t able to accommodate everyone due to venue capacity, but stay tuned for more opportunities to get together with fellow alumni.
