THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our sold-out 2023 LA Summer Party on July 30, 2023! We had a blast catching up with old Yale friends, making new ones, and giving a warm welcome and send-off to the incoming Class of 2027 as they prepared to leave for New Haven.
We provided the Yale swag, lawn games, ice cream sundaes and adult beverages — and our 175 partygoers brought the fun! We were especially excited to have 47 incoming freshmen and 20 other current Yale College students join us.
Special thanks to the incredible Charles Simonds (‘93) and his wife Dierdre, who generously hosted this event at their beautiful home, to the fabulous Cam Rao (‘23) and fellow Whiffenpoof alums for performing, and to our special guest speakers former Yale College Dean Mary Miller and Professor Ed Kamens. Thanks also to Dan and Diane Gainey (P ‘23) for providing wine from the Gainey Vineyard. And thank you to the Yale Alumni Association’s Mindy Marks and Stefanie Stevens, who flew out all the way from New Haven to join us!
Finally, a huge shout out to our core group of Yale Club volunteers who made this event possible — Darlene Kaplan (‘78), Anita Wu (‘03), Marcos Luis (‘07), Kevin Winston (‘90), Endre Hudy (‘11), Esther Kim (‘08 MA) and Evelyn Huang (‘20). It takes a village! See you all at our next party.
