Photos From Yale “For Humanity” Event in LA

What a night! On October 20, 2022, more than 500 Yale alumni in Southern California joined us for a very special evening. This event was held at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, and was the inaugural event in Yale’s For Humanity Illuminated series. The theme of the evening was “Storytelling for Impact.” The program featured incredibly inspiring and engaging Yale speakers, followed by a fantastic reception with drinks, food, conversation and opportunities to connect.

Our incredible speakers included Academy Award-nominated composer Marco Beltrami (’91 MusM), award-winning writer and executive producer Yahlin Chang (’94), Yale lecturer and award-winning showrunner Neal Baer, Yale Associate Professor of Computer Science Ted Kim, and Yale School of Drama’s award-winning Co-Chair of Design Toni Leslie-James, followed by a panel moderated by Act 4 Entertainment founder David Johnson (’78).

The event also featured Yale President Peter Salovey (’86 PhD), Yale University Trustees Carlos Moreno (’70) and Ann Miura-Ko (’98), and Yale Club of Los Angeles Co-Presidents Anita Wu (‘03, ‘06 JD) and Kevin Mark Lodie (‘90). Click here for speaker bios.
