Spotlight: Tiffany Liao (‘22)

Hi! My name is Tiffany (aka Tiff) and I’m a recent Yale grad (PC '22)! I’m originally from the LA area and after 4 years out on the East Coast, I decided to come back to the land of sunshine and great beaches :) I am so excited to be a part of the Yale Club of LA as one of the Young Alumni Chairs! Thought I’d share answers to some Q&A’s below – but I would love to get to know more about YOU as well so please don’t hesitate to reach out

Tell us a little about your time at Yale.

I’m Pierson Class of 2022 and majored in biomedical engineering. On campus, I was a FROCO (first year counselor), Yale Admissions Engineering Tour Guide, and ran a few clubs including Yale Undergraduate Diversified Investments Group, Smart Women Securities, and the Taiwanese American Society. I also volunteered with Matriculate, helping advise high achieving, low income high school students on the college application process.

Favorite LA spots?

I’m a big fan of hiking, so the Hollywood Hike is a favorite of mine. I’m also a big foodie – Guisados has the best taco sampler platter and the mint mojito from Philz Coffee is a must-try!

Favorite New Haven restaurant?

I know New Haven’s known for its pizza, but House of Naan was my go-to as a college student.

Have you stayed connected to Yalies / the Yale community here in LA? How?

Well, for starters, I have an amazing roommate who is also Yale '22, Aidan Campbell. And of course, being a part of the Yale Club is certainly another way in which I stay connected! It’s been great to reconnect with other recent graduates and meet new alumni as well – I’m looking forward to more events as we move into the new year :)

Hobbies / interests?

I absolutely LOVE karaoke.

Basketball, tennis, swimming, and golf are sports I’ve loved for a long time.

I am also a fan of podcasts and audiobooks – a few of my favorite podcasts are How I Built This with Guy Raz, The Journal, and TED Talks Daily.
