The Yale Club of Southern California (YCSC) is a non-profit organization serving Yale University alumni throughout the greater Los Angeles Area. YCSC provides opportunities for Yale alumni to meet, connect, and share through events and activities which reflect the diverse interests and talents of the Yale community.

Although the Yale Club has close ties to the Association of Yale Alumni, YCSC is wholly operated and funded by volunteer alumni, membership dues, and donations. We are only as active as the alumni who participate in Club activities. We encourage all Los Angeles alums to get involved – attend an event or contact our Club President if you are interested in taking a leadership role organizing an event or simply sharing an idea for a new Club activity. Because YCSC receives no funding from Yale, your membership dues ensure that YCSC will be able to continue to provide quality activities for the LA Yale community.

Although our name suggests otherwise, we primarily support alumni in Los Angeles County: the city of Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, and the South Beaches. If you are interested in activities in other areas throughout southern California, consider contacting the local Yale clubs of Orange County, Santa Barbara, or San Diego.

Feel to free to contact us with any questions or ideas you may have.

    GOOD DAY!
COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME A CONTACT # FOR YOUR PROGRAMS ‘CHAIR’?
MARC WORTMAN HAS WRITTEN ‘MILLIONAIRE’S UNIT’~ A MOST HIGHLY REGARDED NARRATIVE OF SIX YALE STUDENTS WHO, IN 1916, PAID FOR THEIR OWN FLIGHT TRAINING AND THEN WENT TO FRANCE WHERE THEY DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES AS AMERICA’S EARLIEST NAVY AVIATORS. THREE WERE TO LOSE THEIR LIVES IN FRANCE. THREE RETURNED AND LIVED LIVES OF REMARKABLE ATTAINMENTS: ONE JOHN VORYS BECAME A OHIO CONGRESSMAN, TWO WERE ASSISTANT SECRETARIES OF THE ARMY AND NAVY IN LATER YEARS~ AND ROBERT LOVETT BECAME TRUMAN’S SECRETARY OF DEFENSE

MR. WORTMAN WAS FOR FIVE YEARS EDITOR OF THE YALE ALUMNI MAGAZINE. HE WILL BE SPEAKING TO SEVERAL AVIATION ASSOCIATIONS IN SO. CALIF IN JULY/OR AUGUST.OF ‘09. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A PRESENTATION OF HIS BOOK TO YOUR ORGANIZATION WITH THE THOUGHT THAT HE WOULD, NO DOUBT, BE OF INTEREST TO YOU AS SPEAKER FOR YOUR GROUP FOR A PROGRAM OF JULY OR AUGUST.

ON BEHALF OF MR. WORTMAN, l THANK YOU FOR YOUR COURTESY.

I have a tie-clip from my father with YCSCSOYA on it.
I have no idea where he got it, I thought you might know what the initials symbolize.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, Eric Bull
